New: Free land-based training on Thursdays, starting this week 9th June

As advised via email, we are starting land-based fitness training to complement the swimming sessions, kindly run by Gary Kingston who is one of our part-time coaches and full-time Royal Marines! *ALL* swimmers welcome on 7 – 7:45pm Thursdays (before the 8-9pm swim session) at Honiton sports hall playing fields – meet outside the swimming pool. Clothing: PE kit, i.e. trainers, shorts, T-shirt, and track suit (if preferred). Cost: Free!

Parents meeting this Tuesday 10 May

Hope you all had a good break. Swimming sessions have resumed as normal. Please note there is a parents and swimmers meeting this Tuesday 10th May at 7.30pm at the main Honiton LED sports centre, upstairs hall.  Please could everyone make every effort to attend.  Head Coach Ralph Watson will give a short talk on where we aim to go with the club, and members of the committee will be there to answer any questions. We will also have samples of the swimming club hoodies for people to try on, and you can use the opportunity to get an order in.

Easter Break: Swim sessions resume on 5 May

This year’s Easter break is extraordinarily long due to a number of celestial coincidences, including a late moon phase and a royal wedding. Therefore swimming sessions will not start again until Thursday 5th May! This means a whole month off. It at all possible please do keep up swimming during the holidays. You all did really well at the recent time trials so don’t let your good form go to waste! Even if you just swim for 20-30 minutes once or twice a week it’ll make a huge difference for when you come back.  Besides it’s great fun too.

Easter Egg Hunt & BBQ this Sunday 10th April

All swimmers and parents welcome, and please feel free to invite friends. It’s from 11am to 3pm at Bishop’s Tower, Tower Cross, Offwell, Honiton EX14 9TN. £2 per person taking part in the egg hunt – Action please – If you haven’t already put your names up on the noticeboard, please let Ralph Lynch as soon as possible (07866-744 487). After the egg hunt there will be a barbeque. Burgers £1.50, soft drinks available, and for those who took part in the egg hunt the first burger is included free.
