The individual PB reports and event reports for swimmers have now been updated, following recent galas. For those who are unaware, these can be accessed from https://honitonswim.wordpress.com/swimmers-times/, and are useful for quickly finding entry times for galas.
This Saturdays Kit Launch and Nutritionist Presentation event will now start at 5:15pm rather than the advertished 6pm. The full schedule is as follows:
5:25 – Introduction
5:30 – Nutritionist Presentation from Dr Joanne Barley-Cameron
6:30 – The New Club Structure presented by our Head Coach
7:00 – Welfare break including Tea/Coffee
7:15 – Demonstration of new kit by club members
7:30 – Size up and ordering of new kit
We would appreciate it if parents and swimmers can make every effort to be there for the start of the event in order to benefit from the input by our guest speaker and to accomodate our younger members.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR CHEQUE BOOK/CASH AND IF POSSIBLE YOUR SIZES SO KIT ORDERS CAN BE PROCESSED QUICKLY.
NOTE: We are still in need of a parent/guardian to volunteer for the Kit Coordinators role
18th August 2015
As we move to the start of the new swimming season we are still in need of someone to manage the club kit. The role will require the responsible person to process orders and maintain stock levels so current and new members are able to purchase or replace kit as and when necessary. We really need a parent/guardian to come forward before the Sept 5th kit launch so please make contact with Ralph Lynch if you can support this role.
Please find a link below to a letter from the Clubs Chairperson regarding the recruitment of a Club Secretary and Kit Coordinator. These roles need to be filled by September in order for the Club to continue to function and to meet constitution requirements.
The early attention to this letter by parents/guardians would be very much appreciated.
The club is pleased to announce plans to hold a home gala in conjunction with Chard Swimming Club on Sunday 15th November. This will be the first gala the club has held for many years so we really hope it will be supported by all our members. Obviously such an event requires pre-planning and assistance on the day, especially from parents/guardians, so we will be publishing a help list in September which we will be seeking volunteers for to ensure the event is a success.
Please remember this is a great opportunity for the club to promote itself as well as raise some vital funds so any donations or sponsorships will be very welcome.
5th September 2015
The rescheduled date for the kit launch will be Saturday 5th September starting at 5:30pm at Cotleigh Village Hall. As previously advertised the event will consist of the unveiling of the new kit along with a size-up and ordering session. This will then be followed by a Nutritionist Presentation which will provide an insight into dietary and lifestyle options for both swimmers and parents. Our Head Coach will also be delivering information about the new club structure and outline how this will aid the development of swimmers.
The committee sincerely hope all members will attend this special and important occasion in order for the new kit to finally become a reality.
Further details of the event including prices and discount rates will be published during the summer break so please look out for this on the website.
REMEMBER – If you follow the website you will get notification of any updates published.
Please note the new swimming season will start on Tuesday 2nd Sept and not Sunday 30th August as earlier advertised. Sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
The Committee Meeting scheduled for 23rd Sept has been brought forward to 3rd September.
Sunday 13th September
Please find information and entry forms for the Exeter City Sprint Meet with takes place on Sunday 13th September. This is a popular meet and we missed out last year so it would be good to get a good turnout this year. Please could completed entry forms be returned to Sarah by Sunday 5th July. Cheques should be made payable to Honiton Swimming Club.
Please note, this gala is open to all of our swimmers aged 9 and over but it is advisable to speak to Ralph if you are not sure whether or not it is suitable for your child.
27th June 2015
A big congratulations to all our swimmers who took part in the gala yesterday. Not only were there some excellent performances but the support provided to team colleagues was superb. Some swimmers took part in over 10 events to compensate for our lack of male competitors but this did not limit the number of PB’s achieved. One of the most noticeable and commendable elements of our swimmers was the etiquette they demonstrated during the race starts which Coach Ralph was extremely proud of. Unfortunately we are not able to provide individual times for the relay events but the times and team members/order of swim can be seen below.
The results of individual races can be found in the link provided at the bottom of this post.
